uTorrentPortable Development test, deleting FileGuard

THIS HAS BEEN INCLUDED IN THE OFFICIAL 2.0.3 RELEASE. THANKS FOR TESTING.

Application: uTorrent
Category: Internet
Description: This release is a test to delete the file hashes in uTorrent's settings files. Insuring that updating the drive-letters will be safe for future releases as-well.

uTorrent Portable 2.0.2 Development Test 1 Online [1MB download / 1MB installed]
(MD5: f851cc9f106183872a569bcc032bdee4)

Release Notes:

Development Test 1 (2010-06-21): initial release

  • Modified:
Drive-letter switching is now done by the NewTextReplace plug-in
Launcher checks if filegaurds are present before trying to delete them
Launcher deletes the fileguards, but only after it updated any drive-letters
    Launcher checks if uTorrent.exe exists
Changed the way the launcher deals with CheckIfCrashLastTime
The script contains a (temporary) check for existing .bad files
Launcher is compiled with Unicode NSIS (same script works for ansi NSIS as-well)

Please, add a comment if you are using THIS uTorrent Portable on different computers. So I have an indication how many people actually use this drive-letter switching without issues !
Whenever uTorrentPortable indicates that .bad files are present, please report this as-well, including a link to a upload of the specific .bad file in App\uTorrent folder. e.g.: http://www.filedropper.com/
Thanx !

Disclaimer: Wraightdu is the original developer or uTorrentPortable's launcher, I just release this as I believe to have found a way to deal with the file-hashes and JohnT.Haller asked me to package this up

Works here!

I have tested this on one PC, and switching drive letters works without a problem. This also keeps uTorrent from immediately trashing resume data if it still can't find .torrents (e.g. an unavailable network drive). Nice work!

I don't know much about this

I don't know much about this website or computers to be honest, but I have been struggling with downloading torrents - the file path couldn't be found. After reading through a different thread about this problem, i came upon your app and downloaded it and I have now been able to download the torrent I wanted! Seems to work for me.

Thanx rebe1982,

for letting me know.

Have you been using this on a usb-drive, on (several) different computers ?
If yes, do your downloading jobs stay in tact, after a PC switch ?
This info is very important to me, as it'll give me info about the portability of this uTorrent Portable development test !
