Hi, I get often this crash! Description: DummyWindowless: plugin-container.exe the instruction at location 0x7c90100b refers to memory address 0x00000030. The memory can not read.
Do you have some solution or explanation of this problem? Or have I to use still the old version 3.6.3?

Are you by chance on a page that uses flash by chance when it crashes? I know the flash plugin shows up as that plugincontainer in the sndvol on Vista.
I updated Firefox portable to the 3.6.4 version. I also updated the Adobe Flash Player plugin to the latest version 10.1, but portable Firefox keeps crashing.
Point out that I had to reinstall the Adobe plugin with IE because it was not possible with FF portable.

Precise, first I could not install Flash Player plug-in from Firefox Portable Edition.
Then, now:
1- I uninstalled Adobe Flash Player with the program provided by Adobe.
2- I rebooted my system.
3- I launched Firefox portable edition.
4- From a web page that required the installation of the Flash Player plug-in I installed it.
5- The answer was, plug-in installed correctly.
6- I rebooted my system.
7- I restarted Firefox portable edition.
8- I did the test operation of the Flash Player from the Firefox plug-in page.
9- everything OK.
But when I connect to certain websites, like Google Maps or Street View, Firefox stops responding and I must close it from Task Manager or by X (close window program) and start over again with FF portable edition.
I can not understand why this behavior.
Again, the problem has occurred since the last update of FF portable edition.
In this regard, and excuse my ignorance, it might be clearer when you say "... then copying the files inot (into) the plugin folder of the portable FF.".
What must I do, precisely ?
Precise that I sometimes have to use Firefox Portable Edition in both systems with XP or Windows 7.

you did it correct now, but only half of it. You installed the correct flash version to your local drive on the local PC. If you use the stick somewhere else, it will not have the flash installed.
you have to copy the file NPSWF32.dll from C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash (on XP, look for similar position on other OS) and paste it to
x:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins
where x is the current letter of the drive.
as why the FF is 'crashing', no idea exctly, but try to reinstall it, simply fresh downlaod and install it over the existing one.
Do you have lot of extensions?

Hi, i'm using it on a Linux-Ubuntu machine and it crashes in every site that contains Flash. With FF 3.5.9 on the same sities it is all ok.

well this can be problem, no one can say if plugins which are in fact not supposed to be portable will behave under wine. It is enough magic that the apps itself work somehow.

I proceeded to also copy the file NPSWF32.dll into folder m:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\Data\ plugins, where m: is the driver where I installed my FF portable.
I also proceeded to overwrite the local installation with other versions of Firefox portable.
The results are:
With versions prior to 3.6.4. (Like 3.5.2 or 3.5.10) all right, but not for later
For example, With version 3.5.2 and 3.5.10 all right.
With version 3.6.4. and newer, problems persist.
I suppose the version 3.6.3 will work fine the same, but I lost it during upgrades.
Then, I decide to use 3.5.10 version, until problems will be solved.
I await further instructions.

portable ff with the latest flash on the stick. on XP with no flash at all installed and can not see any problems with pff 3.6.6 and the latest version of flash. All sites diplayed correctly, flash movies work fine.
I simply copied the flash file to the plugin folder and thats all.
I would then suggest to install pff again and get fresh copy of the flash for it and try again.
However this flash will cause crash as described when PFF is used under wine in ubuntu, but this is no surprise, such things as windows plugins are definitely not designed to be run in such way.
In ubuntu, FF is installed by default, so use the native ff there.
Just tested on w2k system and also here portable ff with the latest flash works perfect.

OK, I will try to reinstall again (on portable disk) the latest version of FFP (3.6.6), possibly on a system without Flash installed
After that, I will copy again the Flash files into FFP plugin folders, but could you be clearer about where to find these files?
Then, i want ask you if is it more convenient to procede FFP upgrading from its Help menu or by overwrite its current installation?

where the system32 is located depends on your operating system, but you can use search function for that.
In fact you can make a search for NPSWF32.dll if you are not familiar with windows structure of system files. Simply search for it, copy it and paste to the plugin folder.
The current flash for firefox for windows will definitely not work under wine/linux. It works perfect under normal windows, tested on XP and w2k so far.
But on the other hand, it seems that the latest version is supposed to be used with FF 3.6.x and above.
So fetch the 366 and give it the NPSWF32.dll and all is ready.

Identical problem here, unfortunately I've found no fix.
Have tried manually copying the plugin over and uninstalling flash, issue remains.
Odd thing is it only happens on my 32bit vista laptop, if I copy my install over to my win7 64 bit machine the problem goes away.
Also a full install of FF works ok with flash too, its just the portable version.
Very frustrating and quite ironic that these versions were meant to stop flash crashing the browser.
Try using 3.6.6? Just go "Help -> Check for updates". It's the second option from the bottom.

It's not recommended that you upgrade FirefoxPortable via the built-in updater, this will almost certainly break portability. It's always best to download the latest PortableApps installer. Firefox Portable 3.6.6 is available for download.
Hi, I've solved all my problem with FF > 3.5.11 by setting in about:config
from
dom.ipc.plugins.enabled;true
to
dom.ipc.plugins.enabled;false
That's all.
