My Wishlist

First of all I just want to say how much I enjoy this website and appreciate all the work of the many talented individuals who 1st wrote the software and 2nd those who made it portable. That said, I's like to share what's on my Portable Apps wishlist, so without further ado, my list is as follows:

StarDict Portable - Dictionary Software
Scribus Portable - Desktop Publishing
Grisbi Portable - Personal Finance Manager
Notepad++ Portable - Programmer's Text Editor
Celestia Portable - Astronomy App
MediaCoder Portable - Audio/Video Encoder
Ethereal Portable - Well known security tool
nmap Portable - Well known security tool
PuTTy Portable - SSH Client
UltraVNC Viewer Portable - VNC App
Audacity Portable - Audio Editor
Cornice Portable - Image Viewer
Abakt Portable - Backup Software
Juice Portable - Podcast Management
CDex Portable - CD Ripping
lbreakout2 Portable - Game
Tremulous Portable - Game
Cube Portable Portable - Game
Disasteroids3D Portable - Game
Neverball Portable - Game
Stellarium Portable - Solar System App
Periodic Table of Elements Portable - 'Nuff Said
winLame Portable - Audio Encoding
Dia Portable - Diagramming
Paint.NET Portable - Image Editor (requires .NET 2--is there some way to build it w/ the libs in the application dir?)
Blender Portable - 3D Graphics
VirtualDub Portable - Video Editor
eMule Portable - P2P

I'm also curious to see what apps you'd like to see made portable. What's on your wishlist?

A few of those have been done at other sites. Start by searching the forums, then move onto google. If I remember correctly, I have seen Scribus, Grisbi, Audacity, Juice, CDex, winLame, eMule & Abakt. I know I have seen Notepad++, UltraVNC, & PuTTy.

As far as .net goes, I wouldn't count on it...

Have seen some too

I have seen (and used) some of the above as well. However, I don't know how portable they really are. I would rather I knew of a trustworthy location to download them from and/or would love to see them hosted here.

Seen 'em, used 'em

I found on Wikipedia a zip with lots of portable apps, and it has a lot of what's being asked here. I can't remember exactly what I searched for but you can start with "portable apps".

Notepad

Note Pad Onley Takes up 67.5 KB so thats a reason is not needed to be a portable app.
Another reason is its on mostley all computers! (But not mac)

Mac Might be a reasion to have it portable but you could have it as a normal programme!

Er,

It's Notepad++ not Notepad.
It is very different to Notepad, with highlighting etc.

I agree it'd be nice to have

I agree it'd be nice to have cdex right here somewhere. Maybe DVDx as well.... I like the idea of having VirtualDub as well, but instead of emule, Shareaza would be better.....
