PA Menu

I cannot remember what version it was, but I know I was, at one point, able to organize my portable apps into folders. Such as all Office type apps into an office folder, all game apps into a games folder, etc.

What happend to that and when will it be reinstituted?

Unofficial Mod

There was an unofficial version called MOD34 that added folders a while back. It's no longer supported and doesn't work with the updater PortableApps.com Format.

The official version of the menu is getting folders in Beta 6 on July 20th an upcoming beta (the beta schedule was changed). They match up with the website's organization. You can grab it then.

Quick question

Will we be able to customize folders? As in create different folders and change what categories applications go in.

Of Course

It just starts out with the helpful default set. These are the ones from the app directory which all apps in PAF are categorized into, translated into all platform languages and can't be changed. You can create your own additional categories named as you choose. And move apps to any category you like, built-in or your own. Any empty categories (like if you move everything out of Development) won't show up.

Schedule Changed

The schedule was changed with the release of beta 5, which arrived a few days late. It along with several other bits will be in the upcoming betas which will come out "about every week or two going forward". We removed the specific dates and features from the schedule so we have time to make the big changes that the new theming format, Delphi coding platform, categories, file associations and updater require. So they will be in an upcoming beta. And they will be arriving relatively frequently. We're only 7 days after beta 5 at this point.

Good idea!

Great move on...

We removed the specific dates and features from the schedule...

BTW, I stole your Sig for my FB, it's great Smile

It amazes me that on the internet you can be anything you want, and yet so many people still choose to be idiots.
