Hi,
I've tested the pre-release 2 and I've still the same problem (as with the previous version) using the "mirror" option: all new files in source are well copied in the destination directory but newly deleted files in the source directory are not deleted in the destination directory.
Any leads to fix this?

you have any file checks selected? If not this would explain why every file is copied. I am not sure why the files are not delete though so I will take a look.
EDIT: Are you using any of the other options?
Why did you feel the need to create v3 ?
I have v2 and it's perfect,
Sync (Mirror, Update) work just fine, and the preview shows me what files will be Copied/Overwritten/Deleted.
and Secure works eveytime, but why do I need to enter the pass twice when Decrypting ?
If your answer is "Fixing Bugs" then why didn't you fix them and release v2.3 ?
and the missing "Help" tab is really annoying, I don't want to explore folders for it and I don't have the PA Menu open at all times. so at least a link inside the program will be helpful.

there were quite a lot or reasons for creating version three. The scripting system in previous versions was nearly useless so that was completely re-done to make it very powerful. On it's own that would probably be worth calling it version three but the limited command line support was also overhauled. Finally there were some very important changes to sync with regards to flexibility, for example the short check mode is especially useful for people copying files over networks as the previous method was virtually unusable in this situation.
As well as this other features were added sure as improved support for new features in Windows 7, better handling of international filenames in backup and automatic previewing in both backup and secure.
So as you can see there was really a lot of new stuff added so calling it 2.3 seemed to undervalue the release.
A link to the help file was added in 3.0.1 which was released the day after 3.0 so I am not sure what the problem is here.
Finally I most definitely did not start over, if you take a look at the latest pre-release you should see everything working at least as well as in 2.2, if not please post and I will try and sort it. I am not going to pretend that the 3.0 release was perfect, far from it, but I do think that (especially when 3.0.2 is released) there is really no good reason to stick with with 2.2!

Toucan 3.02 on Win XP SP3 keeps crashing on me whenever I try to setup new rules and create a file exclude rule that is something like ">500MB" (exclude files greater than 500MB). In fact, it's even more specific... it happens the second I type the "greater than". Anyone else have this issue?
this one fixed, thanks! I think I shall send this off for release later as the main problems with sync seem to be sorted, anything else can roll into 3.0.3
I think I will help you test 3.0.2 pre, and if the final release does the Sync and Preview as good as v2 I will switch, gladly.

I take it that you did some testing of your own because I didn't go into any more detail but it looks like operators in general might be an issue. "Less than" also causes the crash.
I'm not sure what else is allowed in the rules... If I remember correctly aren't regular expressions permitted? I haven't tried those. Anyway, I'm sure you thoroughly tested and addressed all the rules issues but I thought I'd mention it just in case.
I got it sorted
It turned out that the date parsing function I was using didn't like being passed certain types of string, I have fixed that and plan to file a bug about it.
Toucan is deleting files from destination that exist in source with Mirror job.

there you have it, my Feedback after 24h of testing, Sync doesn't work as it's supposed to, Secure screwed my fies, I encrypted them and now I can't decrypt them. LOST~!
and where is the "Update" sync ?

I'm not gonna help you with 3 and I think you should SCRAP it immediately and not waste another second on this trash, it's completely broken and NOTHING works.!!!
I respect you for the wonderful perfect flawless solid v2, but honestly v3 is a one big mistake formed off many many bugs, issues and WTFs.
I gave it a chance, but after it ate my files there is no forgiveness.

you have broken the Sync and Secure, why change something that worked flawlessly ?
The help Tab was the most convenient and useful thing in the entire web, you went and changed it to html because some people want...
you can add the html help to v2, also add the "preview only changes" and work one step at a time, 2.2.1 , 2.2.2 , 2.2.3 , 2.3 , it's better than releasing a broken App.
and where is the "Update" sync?
until 3.2.1 , I'm glad v2 is still available.
