VLC: relative paths in playlist

It seems since V1.5 vlc doesn't support relative paths in playlists any longer.
As i use vlc on portable devices together with the media files the drive letters change. So the latest vlc releases are pretty useless for me.
Are there any workarounds, tweaks, ...?

Thanks in advance!

hm

The only workaround that comes into my mind is that John would have to adapt the launcher so it changes the driveletters. The downside is that all your playlists would have to be in one place...
Maybe you can mark this thread as [Bug] - this way it gets noticed better by developers.

Like XMPlay

The launcher for XMPlay changes the drive letter in the library file if necessary. Maybe this could do the same? One caution would be the startup time that it would take to modify and save the files.

This was a bug in VLC 1.1.0

This was a bug in VLC 1.1.0 that has been fixed in 1.1.1 which has been released. Stick with 1.0.5 until it gets updated here.

Changelog:
* Fix opening of .m3u and .pls playlists

Once you go portable...
