Trying to install FF 3.6.8, I get this error:
Error opening file for writing.
x:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox\AccessibleMarshal.dll
I re-downloaded 3.6.8 a couple of times, to make sure it wasn't a corrupted download. I am installing over 3.6.7.
If I "ignore" the file to continue the installation I get the same error for App\Firefox\LICENSE and then for README.txt, application.ini, blocklist.xml -- and that's where I aborted the installation.

Did John release FFP 3.6.8?Downloaded saved to disk installed no issues...XP SP3

That means those files are not writable by the installer, which is usually a drive issue. Eject, reboot, re-insert, check for errors and then try again.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
