It's partially open source freeware for personal and business use.

New In This Release

This release updates Google Chrome to the latest version and features an improved installer.

Google Chrome Development Update

Though not designed for everyday use, the Development build of Chrome is also available. This will be updated fairly regularly, though not quite as quickly as the stable release. As it is neither an alpha or beta release, we don't do individual announcements of updates to this build. We do, however, keep it updated via the PortableApps.com Updated within the platform 2.0 Beta release.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

Google Chrome Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

This was released yesterday, but due to a download issue on SourceForge was unavailable for several hours after release. We apologize for any inconvenience.

With a job I have found my free time drops significantly, plus since my job in programming I have found it difficult to motivate myself to program outside of the workplace.

So thanks for taking care of these version bumps, I know you don't need to (you could be waiting for me to make Dev Tests) and I do appreciate it. Smile

Signature automatically removed for being too awesome.

Sure thing, gotta keep the users updated Smile

When you do get time, if you could look into updating your launcher to NSIS Unicode, that'd be very helpful!

I know this is very much not but should this be regarded as freeware or open source? Currently it's listed as an open source release?

It's supposed to be freeware.

Hi,

You know with these installers, is there any way to change them so they download all the data they need BEFORE uninstalling the App files?

I have very unreliable accessibility to google download servers (local political reasons but regardless this issue should apply to anyone in the world with an unreliable internet connection) so updating Google Chrome is always a bit of Russian Roulette. If the installer fails to connect the update fails and I am left with an unusable Chrome.

It might also be interesting to note that the built in updater in Platform 2.0 thinks that the App is uptodate.

This version of Portable Google Chrome works very well even with Extension. Great work indeed of PortableApps.
The only lack is still classic, it would take some time to rewrite onto the portable media.
Still the best portable site ever Smile

It seems that the autofill options are missing from the portable version.
