very important problem settles when they begin using nomadic applications

is it possible to make the same thing?

I can't tell if this is SPAM or

I can't tell if this is SPAM or if the Pascal Raymond really doesn't understand what's going on here.
I understand that there is a language barrier here, so I'm going to assume that it is a request for an app.

It appears that this app is a portable file associator.

So, Pascal, currently there are 2 file association apps on this site, eXpresso and PortableFileAssociator. Also, the next revision of the PortableAppsPlatform will include file association.

As for drive letters, the apps here all use launchers that use relative paths, so they don't have any problem there.

While what you have in your post is written like this is a new idea, all these and more have been dealt with on this site for years.
Also, if you are requesting an app, please use the Request Apps forum.

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.

Key File Assoc

As far as I understand, I think it's a request for Key File Assoc, which is part of the portable environment of another well-known site...

To my opinion :
+ This portable file associator is quite easy to use and adds context menu entries, which is really usefull to people which uses explorer & mouse a lot Smile
- It does not allow to create associations for multiple file extensions. As for example, a "Open with gimp" association for all image types is not possible, you have to create it for jpg, anoher for bmp, ...

Expresso et PortableFileAssociator

Bonjour Guillaume

Merci

English only

Please speak only in English. Very few here will understand French, and so you're less likely to get an answer, and also, if the forums ever stop being just English, it would cause no end of confusion and trouble, so we really can't allow any precedent for it.

I am a Christian and a developer and moderator here.

How ?

How can people ask for help if they can't speak english ?

You said : you're less likely to get an answer

OK, but if he gets many answer in english, it won't help him, right ? To my opinion, the most important think is to provide help in any ways. As Darkbee proposed, the answer can be translated, if possible, so anyone understand.

But if eglish only is the rule here... I have to stay with it

My 2 Cents

I believe Expresso is still being developed, just very slowly (the current developer doesn't have much time).

It might be easier for you to write in French but it's not easier for (most of) us to understand! Smile I don't know if this would be against forum policy but perhaps you could put the French below an English translation in your posts. Can a mod confirm whether this would be an acceptable compromise or not (since some people are not able to express themselves as clearly in languages other than their first language)?

Sorry, I can't help you much

I'll try to answer Pascal in french and put the translation too. Let's see if it's OK like this.

English : Darkbee explained that Expresso is still under development but the developper has not much time to spend on this project. I just made a quick test to Expresso and PortableFileAssociator because I only use PortableApps for messaging and browsing. This does not require any file associations. Lastly, I think I heared file associations will be part of future PortableApps platform so you won't need any external tool...

File Associations Coming / French Forum

File associations will be in 2.0. They should debut in Beta 7. We'll also be opening a French forum shortly along with a French-speaking moderator.

Google Translation:

Thanks

Thank you for the confirmation about file associations.
I'm quite surprised about the french forum... Is there any other language-specific forum planned ? Or a general recommandation like "put your language in the post subject" ?

Multilingual

We've been multilingual software-wise for quite some time. We currently support 16 primary languages (so you'll find Firefox, Thunderbird, etc available in those), 52 primary+secondary languages (which you'll find supported in the platform), and 70 primary+secondary+tertiary languages (supported by the installer and in the near future by the launcher as well). We added a German forum and translation of the site about 2 years back and a quick stub for Russian recently. So, we've been multilingual for quite some time. We're just going to be ramping it up as we grow, gain additional users and software/hardware partners in new areas of the world and add additional moderators and translators for new languages.

Not English Only

Don't worry. This site isn't English only. It's just that we don't have a dedicated forum for French yet (but will this month) nor a translation of much of the site into French (we will soon). For now, just add (French) to the start of your subject if you need to ask any questions in French that you can't easily ask in English. And not having English as your primary language is fine, we have lots of multilingual users all over the world. Smile

The link you posted is to an illegal software site that is using our trademarks without permission. As we don't allow links to illegal sites or software, I've removed it.
