Could you please post a faster mirror? I recommend Mediafire as it supports download accelerators. With ADrive I can only get 20KBs +/-

I could do media fire but it can't do files above 200 MB unless you pay...

My download this evening was at around 224 KB/s which is full speed for my connection.
The link does provide good speed.
My problem was I couldn't download it with wxDownloadFast Portable so I used Google Chrome's standard download component. That's what seemed to slow the download so dramatically. Or it could have simply been my connection was buggy at the time.
Using Firefox's standard download component I got 180kb/s and with DownloadThemAll! it was somewhere in the vicinity of 500kb/s.

I suggest sticking to the stable version. That way you don't have to track two different courses of portable development and bugs.

on WIN xpsp3 limited. it includes an in my opinion unnecessary appicon_48.png file inside the appdata folder and a definitively unnecessary stderr.txt-BackupByWesnothPortable in app/wesnoth.
Didnt play it long - found it a bit tricky to play but thats not your problem
