Program: Sonic Chaos Revolution
License: I guess it's freeware (there is a part of the site the developer says: " Please DO NOT ask me to release source files of ANY of my games, as I won't.")
Description:
Basic Info
Play as Sonic and defeat Robotnik and Chaos in long 6 levels. Gameplay is a bit hard, if you want some challenge and a cool game, this is it. Levels include Hydrocity, Casinopolis, Sandopolis, Flying Battery and 2 more.
Extra Info
Game consists of 3 parts; level, boss and escape. After finishing the level and defeating Robotnik, you use Robotnik's Egg-o-Matics to escape from the zone. Bosses are hard, as well as levels. Sonic sprite is also cute!

Other: The developer stopped working on the games. The game's links no further function anymore, but it can be downloaded from legal sites on the internet. If contact is needed, there is a contact section on the site.
There are also other games listed at http://www.go.to/magicgrafx that maybe could be made portable, but I already didn't find them on the web. I only found Sonic Chaos Revolution.

i looked at the website & i can't find any licensing info about the games and roms. Freeware does not mean its under gpl so until someone can look at the license and see what's going on i wouldn't recommend trying to make it in p.a.f. format or anything. See if you can find out if the license is gpl v2 and if it is...then go for it after you ask the mods on this website if it's ok or not because they would really know alot more about the legaleze than I
well considering sonic is trademarked by sega thus I believe would be a trademark issue

If I am not wrong, this Sonic game isn't from SEGA. It isn't a official game. See the site.

You're missing the point. Sonic the Hedgehog is a trademarked character, therefore you can't just go creating your own Sonic the Hedgehog character (or use the name without permission). Technically, all unofficial games that use trademarks are illegal, doesn't matter if it's Mario, Sonic, Tiger Woods (again, unless they have express permission to do so). You can't just take something and start using it as your own.
Now Sega probably don't care and it's not worth their time to go chasing these people down and forcing them to take their games down, but they could if they wanted to (and they'd have every legal right to do so).
Anyway the upshot of it is, that PortableApps always stays on the legal side of software and so I think they would be very relunctant to take this game on, given all the potential legal issues.
Ok. I got the point. Thanks everybody for explaining me the situation.

I read the site and I found a place where the creator of the game (I dunno if it is him, I'm not sure)says he won't release the source code. So, I know that the game isn't opensource. But there is a chance of the game been packaged as a portable app if someone talk to the game creator, ins't it?
