does anyone know if portable apps will run on win mobile 6.1?
have not tried yet... thought i'd ask if anyone else had first.

Windows Mobile is Windows in name only and can't run Windows software (software designed for the Windows desktop operating system). All software here is Windows software. So it won't work on any Windows Mobile device.

It makes me wonder, why is PortableApps even needed on Windows Mobile? Windows Mobile is Portable to start with.
because many of the apps presented here do not have a WinMobile version released, so if PortableApps would run on it, it would be a great way to get some really good apps onto the platform.
a program has to work in a certain OS and THEN it can be converted to portability. The PA menu just organizes these programs in a convenient manner.

Gluxon was asking while people would want portable software for WinMobile.
Some people looking for WinMobile software see this site, think "Ooh, portable equals mobile" and hope that it means that the Windows apps here will somehow run on their phone.
I guess I didn't explain myself very well.
