so did you get the Undelete to work? I can't seem to make the program recover my file (which was just a shortcut I created, then deleted).
No luck with undelete for me either.
If your in contact with the developers of Toolbox, could yousuggest a one-click maintenance feature like Glary's to them. Would be very convenient.

So I checked out this app briefly and I like it. Unfortunately I didn't do a regshot but I can't see any files left behind from my casual searching.
It ran on Win7 with admin rights; no issues.
It does remind me strongly of Glary, with the exception that HorusofOz put forth, that it needs a one-click maintenance button. I don't know why but I actually like the look of it better than Glary, but not needing admin rights to run it would be a huge plus in its favor.

Are you referring to Glary or the Toolbox? I thought Glary worked without admin rights.
I could drop a note to IObit to do a one-click maintenance, though.
I was referring to IOBit Toolbox, since HoO said that he (she? :?) ran it without admin rights.
From my observations Glary works without admin rights but sometimes it complains at the user if they don't have them. It's a minor thing but I'd rather not have the application complain at all. I will double check and confirm.
almost none of IObit's apps require admin rights. The only app I found was Smart Defrag (which is a shame because its like 100 times better then JKDefrag).
I'm also working on IObit Security 360 Portable.
(wouldn't it be great if we released like all of IObit's software, but portable all in one day?)

Seems like PA.c does permit some "low-level" applications to disregard non admin-rights condition, where such apps are almost always likely to require them (for purposes of system optimization/modification).
Is JKDefrag open source and IOBit's software is freeware? Generally, Freeware tends to get a frosty reception around here.
I admit, I do try to stick with open source software myself, but I certainly still have a healthy portion of portable Freeware in my collection too.
I guess I could make Smart Defrag portable, but, whenever you try to run it, it doesn't prompt for a username and password, rather it just tells you that an error occurred and to try to run it again but with administrative rights. I think that it would be preferred a lot better over JKDefrag (I tested it, and I defregged my drive in 20 minutes. I got over 2000 files defragmented. I ran JKDefrag portable right after, because I was curious if Smart Defrag worked, and it took 30 minutes, and found only 13 fragmented files.
If you do some weird long math equation, I think you'd see Smart Defrag really is 100 times better
You're saying that Smartdefrag is better because it missed thirteen files?
The reason jk takes longer is because it optimises file placement as well as just defragging individual files.
If you just want to defrag, look at defraggler from piriform, it is probably perfect for that use.
I'm saying its better because its so much faster.

Looks good, um very similar to Glary Utils from what I can tell, not that that is a criticism, just an observation. (there were entirely too many commas in that sentence... another obvservation)
I'll give it a whirl later and report back.
Tested it yesterday and it works perfectly (Win XP/SP3, admin rights). RegShot appears unsuspicious (a whole bunch of reg changes done by windows as IObit Toolbox is supposed work with the system but nothing directly left over by the toolbox itself).
Although I am really not a fan of integrated toolboxes, I like the ease of use of this one. As long as I don't touch anything labeled "Optimization" or "Cleaning" that (per definition) messes with my system, I feel safe (don't want to start a discussion about sense and nonsense here).
Some nice tools, I especially liked the Cloned Files Scanner and the Disk Explorer.
There seems to be a new version out though.

The original dev is all on board, but I have no clue when it might be official.
Renatinh, there's nothing to stop you using this program, even though it's not official. Of course, it's nice to be able to see on the homepage, via RSS feeds or the PAM Updater when there are new releases but you can still use the unofficial version without any issues. If you do find issues then think of it as helping towards making the app more official!

This is great. Even though the toolbox is already portable it is awesome that I can integrate it with my portable platform.
Are any of the other freeware utilities going to be portablilized? It would be awesome to get them all wrapped up in one package so you can run everything from the toolbox in the portable apps environment. It would solve the issue of offline pc maintenance. I use the toolbox to fix and resolve issues on other computers and if there is no internet I can't download and install smartdefrag or security 360 etc.
Just food for thought.

I actually revisited the apps homepage just now. It looks like they stopped developing the app. So I'll be dropping support as well. Perhaps if I get their permission, I might update some of the tools that were updated in ASC.
