[Resolved] Minimize to tray *FIX*

Hello all Smile

I love using portable apps, but since the beta you can't minimize to tray anymore..

There's a very simple fix for this: "Run the program in windows vista compatibility mode".

How to?

1) Goto the folder where StartPortableApps.exe file is
2) Right click on this file, choose "properties".
3) Goto the tab "Compatibility"
4) Check the box saying "Enable compatibility mode..."
5) Choose "Windows Vista" ( I think SP1 or SP2 works aswell )

Press Apply, Ok, restart the application.

actually it's there you can

actually it's there you can minimize to tray but it also minimizes to the superbar too to disable the superbar part and keep the system tray just follow this instruction that's officially documented

Browse to X:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\Data and open the file PortableAppsMenu.ini in your favorite text editor (Notepad is fine). In the section [DisplayOptions] add the following line:

Windows7TaskbarIcon=false

Then save and restart the PortableApps.com Platform.

Documented?

So, where is this documentation? My PA menu doesn't show a minimize button and when I include your line it disappears altogether when it loses focus.

It doesn't

It minimizes to the system tray. The icons of which are hidden by default on Windows 7 and are not visible until you click the little up arrow near the system tray. That's the whole reason we have it on the taskbar in Windows 7, because most users won't be able to find it.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
