In my download action window, I have no entries at all. I'm pretty sure there have been several entries earlier. How can this be and how can I correct it? Now I can't adjust the way Firefox handles downloads.

Im not the guy to ask but id say a virus malware trojen stuff like that. Or your hard drive could be failing.
Are you able to choose where to download and then see the file downloading? Are you going to the downlods screen after a download has finished to see what downloaded? If after the download has finished, it removes them from the list from what I have seen as apart of the no saving histories for web visits.
Please explain more as to why you say that FFP is broken. We need more details or otherwise we are all justing shooting blanks here...

I can choose where to download and see the file downloading all right. And I can see the file that has been downloaded. But this is not my problem. I'll try to explain a little better: In Tools-Options-Downloads-View&Edit Actions, it should be possible to control how FFP handles files of certain types. You should for example be able to "tell" FFP to open wmv-files with VLC Media Player. My problem is that I'm not able to do this, because there are no entries; there should be (I think), a list of different file types and the possibilty change how they are handled by FFP.
I see what you are talking about now. I looked in mine and it is populated with a bunch of things. i have not checked a virgin FFP yet though to see if it requires some input first. Maybe corrupted profile? Not a FFP pro or guru, just tryin to help with certain thigs.
