ClamWin Bug: Can't Save Reports (Affects Portable and Local)

I just installed the latest version 0.96.2.1 and i still get the Error FFFF message when ever i try saving an update report.

It might have something to do with the fact that when ever i go into the preferences all the directories are blank unless i put the cursor in the blank space and move it around, then the directory appears.

Is there something wrong with the relative paths or something?

Could you please link to your previous topic where you indicate what was happening, what you did, what you are trying to do?

I can't seem to find it Sad

There is no previous topic

There is no previous topic since i mostly mentionned it in the IRC support channel.

What i do is "download virus update database" and when it's complete i click on the save report button and get the error ffff every time.

I'm on a window 7 64bits machine with very restrictive rights.

Works for Me

Works for Me on WinXPSP3 using the default save location:

C:\Documents and Settings\Tim\My Documents\Timp\Downloaded\EmergencyStuff\CWP\App\clamwin\bin\clamav_report_090910_150720.txt

with Admin privs

What is the full path of where you are saving it to?

I Get the Error Too

I get the "Common dialog failed with error ffff" message too on Win7 with admin rights. Don't know whether this is a portable issue or a base app issue, I don't have time to test right now.

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Load ClamWinPortable
2) Start Internet update
3) Once finished, click "Save Report" button
4) Error dialog message box appears

Path to enlightenment

C:\Users\[username]\_Portables\Apps\System\ClamWinPortable\Data\log\ClamUpdateLog.txt

As taken from the ClamWin preferences.

Too long?

Too long?
Doubt it, it's shorter than mine.

[side note: your save location is probably THE default location, mine might have gotten changed in the past, \Data\log\ seems the logical place.

OS?

I'm about to leave, I'll test it at home on Win XP SP3 and see what happens. Maybe it's a Win 7 issue.

ClamWin Issue

This is a ClamWin issue on Windows 7. The standard version has the exact same issue. It only appears to affect 'Save Report' on updates or scans. There is no workaround.

Portable ?

I'm running ClamWin on Windows 7 64bits + admin rights + local installation.
And everything looks fine, I can save the reports.

Same Here and No

I'm also running Win7 64bit with admin rights local install and I get the error with 0.96.2.1.

OK

So, I guess the problem has nothing to do with our "hard/soft"ware combination.

Maybe ClamWin configuration ? (I did not change any settings related to report folder, report naming ...)

Me Neither

It was a vanilla install with all the default options. Very strange.
