Flash is Local

If I am not mistaken Flash Player is installed locally and FF uses a plugin to access it.

You can get Flash Player from Adobe.com. It should also install a plugin for you.

You can test your Shockwave and Flash Players @ Adobe Player Test Page.

Have you checked your version?

If it says 8.0 then you need to upgrade.

Also check with the same link with (I hate to say it) IE.

I believe the plugin for FF is the same no matter what the version of Flash installed on the local machine.

Works for me.

Ther are both the current updated versions.

FFP 2.0 RC3 and
FFP 1.5.0.7

You are not closing your browser when you install are you?

The installer won't be able to find your browser if you have it on a flash drive.

Yes that is the plugin...

...but I don't think that automatically makes your Flash Player Current @ 9.0. I think you still need to update the local machine.

John or Ryan?

Actually

(to argue semantics) it's a extension Wink (Actually, I'm not so sure now)
I'm no expert on Flash but I would say that you are correct. Just as Quicktime uses plugins to play files in the browser, I think Flash would too.
It just seems too robust to only be a(n) plugin/extension.
