Create Synchronicity is a powerful and lightweight open source backup and synchronization program, available in many languages.
Create Synchronicity is especially light: zipped, it weights about 120kB (that's 20 times less than an average MP3 file). It makes the backup process extremely easy, while remainining fully customizable.

Is very useful for backup or synchronization, is free, is open source, and is portable...
At the risk of sounding like a traitor (and not to disregard Toucan), this actually looks pretty good and potentially worthy of inclusion into PortableApps. Question is, does it work reliably?
Uses the .NET bloater … so not for me.
Aahh, I didn't notice that. That's a shame, oh well maybe next time.
Toucan it is then!
Yeah … soon, hopefully. As long as it still has issues (can’t back up my portable drive without crash), I even reverted a step further: I’m back at good, old, reliable rsync -av src dest …
Try Toucan. Reasons why?
* At a glance it does everything that Synchronicity can and then some.
* Already in PAF
* Actively developed on this site so if you find any bugs or want to request a feature you know where to go.
* Not as lightweight as Synchronicity but at 4MB installed it's still lightweight.

I tried Toucan and I much prefer Create Synchronicity.
Anyway the publisher offers a portable version, so ...
