Win2000 Checking File System on Flash Voyager

Hi. I was wondering if anybody knows how to stop Win2000 from checking file system on my Flash Voyager 2gb. It does this during reboot if I fail to remove the drive prior to rebooting. Obviously the answer is to remove it first, but I can't understand why it does it in the first place. Is it because it is formated in FAT?

Windows 2000

This is actually the way Windows 2000 itself works. It doesn't really like the concept of removable drives. So, you should do a safe eject before shutting down.
