Snapshots in two differenct computers. Regshot.

If i have two computers and I install the same program on both of them, will the four snapshots be similar (same entries)?
even if there are different OS?

Depends on what the program is.

Do you have two computers with different OS? If so, try it!

In general, though, many apps are configured for their installers to add the same registry entries to any computer. Some installers are configured to detect the OS, and therefore could add different entries depending on the OS. And also, it's common for installers to use constants for things like Windows Directory and Users Directory, and the OS will then modify the path if necessary (i.e. in Windows 2000, the Windows directory is C:\WINNT, but in later versions it is C:\WINDOWS).

Nothin to it but to do it, tho.

they would be similar, though

they would be similar, though i doubt identical. it depends on whether or not other programs are running, what those programs are, and as you mentioned the user names, and the HKEY\USERS\{long-random-mess-of-numbers} as this is the same as HKEY\CURRENTUSER

If they are two clean systems??

Clean - means that only that program was installed and running.

if it is the ONLY application

if it is the ONLY application installed and running, then just "the user names, and the HKEY\USERS\{long-random-mess-of-numbers} as this is the same as HKEY\CURRENTUSER" would be different, i think.

the

the "{long-random-mess-of-numbers}" would be different. that value is called a GUID, and it is a unique identifier for the current user. the difference would be the {long-random-mess-of-numbers}, not any of the subkeys

Also, don't forget that MRU

Also, don't forget that MRU entries can be ignored, as I mentioned in https://portableapps.com/node/25135#comment-158991
and it's possible that the system may be running something that has nothing to do with your app, that could leave a harmless registry entry.
