Suggestion: Portable apps Suite

I installed the Portable apps Suite and have several suggestions:

  1. "Get a new app" should bring up a window that lists the apps from the web site by category that you can drill down too. You tick the apps you want, it lists the amount of space required (and turns red if you don't have enough), it then downloads and installs them automagically.
  2. You should be able to check and update portable apps to the latest version.
  3. You should be able to set a different browser the Suite uses, I use Opera USB and want any links the Suite opens to use Opera instead.
  4. I already had some portable apps installed before the suite, you should be able to point the Suite at those (or any other app, for example Opera USB) so you can launch them from within it.
  5. Pointing the Suite at a downloaded .paf.exe file takes WAY way longer than installing it directly... then again it might have been my imagination.

OK

1)This will be (and partially is) available with the next release of the menu.

2)The current beta already includes an updater su updating installed apps is a snap.

3)Dunno if thats gonna happen but I guess things will change here to as the "firefox only-mode" is from the times when Firefox was the only portable browser we had.

4)You can copy other apps into the suite and then they will show up in the menu. See here.

5)Thats a bug in the current installer t5hat is being worked on.

Simeon has answered 1, 2, 4 and 5, so I'll answer 3. It's in the plans for 2.0 to support a different default browser.

Looking forward to trying the new functionality in this suite. [Illegal software site removed by mod JTH.] implements this very nicely as well.
