DVDStyler is a great program, but some of the AVI files I had needed a little trim, so I did so with VirtualDub, and now they don't load in DVDStyler at all. The program just hangs indefinitely. Is it just me or is there a known issue with files output from VirtualDub?
Okay, so it's not incompatibility in the sense I thought it was. Turns out that for some reason, AVI's output by VirtualDub are ridiculously huge. I opened an AVI to trim off some of the video from the end, and then when VirtualDub output the new version, it was 18.5GB -- a bit much. So what I interpreted as DVDStyler's indefinite hanging and refusal to load was in fact its attempt to load a huge-ass movie. So is there some setting within VirtualDub that I'm not seeing? Is there a "huge-ass" checkbox I can clear? I'll fiddle around with it, but I'd appreciate any input anyone has on the subject. Thanks.
If not, uncompressed video is supposed to be huge. But since you just want to trim anyway, you should choose Video=>Direct stream copy
