When I hover over a link in TB the cursor changes to a hand and the link is displayed at the bottom of the screeen, but nothing happens when I press the link. I use TB-portable, Google Chrome portable and IE, and TB-Portable has been set a my default browser, but nothing happens. So everytime I have to open a link, I manually copy the link location into the browser and sees it this way. But that is starting to get a bit tedious

"TB-Portable has been set a my default browser" - what do you mean? Default email client or something else as the default browser? You shouldn't make a portable application the default browser or email client - they're designed to run portably, not be tied in like that, and if you do it the wrong way things break.
