I dont know why but when I want to use Facebook via XMPP I can't log in. It always show me some errors. So I wonder does it work in portable Pidgin? I did exactly how it's written on Facebook...

And also, just in case you are just missing some steps for Facebook via XMPP

I already have the Facebook plugin and it works properly. Even the new Facebook group chats works with it.
You know, I just wanted to try Facebook via XMPP. I followed information here on Facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/sitetour/chat.php
First Pidgin announced me that 'server closed connection'. During the second attempt I got a notification 'plaintext authentication' and when I clicked on 'yes' Pidgin wrote me that 'service unavailable'. When i clicked on 'No' Pidgin announced me that I must allow it. And now I get this error: '503: Service Unavailable' I guess, I will start praying for it.
It works for me in Pidgin 2.7.2 (although I don't use it much).
Have you set up a Facebook username? (I'm assuming so)
My configuration is:
