Version 43.1c Dev Test 1 (2010-10-30)
I hope you guys like it and many thanks to Patrick for his continued support by hosting all my Dev Tests and for Chris Morgan for his work on the Launcher!
Great! Very promising game. Portablisation seem to work so far, regshot ok.
I really like it, never got used to atomic tanks for its ugly looks.
A good alternative to hedgewars even if its slightly complicated to control.
Thanks a lot!
I am glad you like it
I too find the controls a bit too hard - got the hang of it in Atanks after a while, but it looks its gonna take longer in 3D.

This was the message I received after trying to run the game on a Dell Inspiron laptop running XP SP3. I got to the opening menu (i.e. Start Game) and that was fine but when trying to start the game I got the error message.
Do you get the same error in the non-portable version? My guess would be a graphics card driver issue. Do you have the latest drivers for your graphics card? (or onboard chipset). Come to think of it, does your laptop graphics chipset have relevant support for the game graphics? (maybe there's some hardware acceleration requirement or something like that).
Just throwing some ideas out there.
I think you are pretty accurate with the ideas you're throwing around.
In the Scorched 3D Forum, there is a thread about this/a similar problem and they suggest updating the driver and switching off some settings so its less intense on the grafic card.

You're probably correct. I went into setup and turned the GL Extensions off and the game loaded up properly and runs. Great graphics.
Thanks for the clue.
to version 43.2.
EDIT to version 43.2a.

I havent found a good-enough icon yet but as its optional, I'll start to really care about it when this goes towards the official release.
EDIT: About the language files: They are inside Scorched3DPortable\App\Scorched3D\data\lang. Its only russian and english atm and I havent found a way to change the language but its multilingual.
