DjVu and PDF browser plugins ?

Are there any plugins for Firefox that can read pdf or djvu and that are self-sufficient i.e. independent of any external files, registry etc. ?

I really don't want to open pdf or djvu in any external program.

Look, even Google Chrome has now native support for pdf...

Useless without real suggestions

A post like this is completely useless unless you have a particular plugin you're wondering about. If it's just a general question about "is there such a plugin for Firefox", this isn't the place - try the web in general. Find such a plugin - if one exists - and then you can see about having it portable here.

Yes, I have some in mind

Foxit reader has in fact browser plugin but after installing it in Foxit Reader Portable it doesn't see Firefox Portable.
Placing corresponding .dll file to data\plugins\ doesn't solve the problem.

FF Foxit

In FF try hitting tools, options and then applications. Tell FF what program you want to open PDF I did and it now defaults to Foxit

I want plugins, not standalone apps

I want open pdf's inside the browser, not as standalone apps.
This is the way Chrome works...

So is there any pdf plugin without dependencies ? (I mean is there any possibility to wrap some existing plugin into standalone one ?)

Some Add-Ons are portable

It depends (no pun intended). Some Firefox Add-Ons are portable, some are not. If nobody here knows of a portable PDF viewer add-on then the best thing to do would be to search the Mozilla site and try to see if you can find one.

I don't know of one myself because I just download the PDF file and then open it in FoxItReaderPortable. Yes this is a pain and not very convenient but it is a solution for those times I'm away from my regular computer.

Update: This might be a useful alternative if there aren't any good PDF viewer add-ons for Firefox: Google Doc Viewer
