I am experiencing a lot of crashes with PFF 3.6.12. It will suddenly close for no apparent reason. Just wondering if others are experiencing this?
Most likely it is an extension responsible. It is a real chore trying to track down which might be responsible.

Firefox Portable 3.6.12 Crashes
I have the same problem, but with my linux version and not with the portable one.
I hvae adblock+, noscript and a video downloader as extensions.
I guess it could be something in firefox itself as the OSs are so different.

I haven't experienced any crashes on Windows 7, running AdBlock+, MultiFox, GreaseMonkey and New Tab Homepage.
well, it only crashes when I try to use shockwave portably, but since then (about 2 years ago) it has never crashed.
Is there a specific website you've noticed you've been on when FF crashes?
I have not been able to identify a common denominator. It has been okay the past few days. There is the possibility an extension update remedied the problem.
The plot thickens... but I am at a loss to explain.
Firefox 3.6.12 still crashes on occasion. I'm not seeing a strong common thread. Among other times, it may crash as I close a tab or print.
Today Google Chrome 7.0.517.44 crashed on me unexpectedly. The crashes have happened on multiple computers, most running Windows XP, on Windows 7 Starter. Running on a newer USB stick, Patriot Xporter XT.
Is Firefox set to write stuff the drive (cache)? Probably not but it wouldn't hurt to double check.
Is it possible that you are the world's unluckiest person and have in fact a second failing USB drive?
I might have not dared to suggest such a thing except that now it's not just Firefox that is having the issues.
How about, trying to copy Firefox portable to a hard drive (home desktop/laptop for example) and running from there for a while to see if it still crashes. If it does then it could be something with your profile (which may or may not be a result of USB Drive failure).
Google Chrome could have been a unrelated, fluke failure. Let's hope so for your sake.
Not sure what to make of it. I guess the first thing to do is backup the drive, reformat, restore and see how things go.
I've come up with a few ways to try to find out what's wrong...
If you have your own PC, try installing regular firefox onto your PC. Test it to see if it crashes.
Also, as mentioned above, try putting FFP on your desktop and see if that ever crashes.
And, if you don't mind, can you zip up your Data folder (FirefoxPortable\Data) and upload it so we can all try it out and see if we also get crashes.
Also, have you noticed it crashing on other computers? It might be that there is something funky going on with yours.
I hope we can help!
