Apps That Have Dropped Windows 2000 Support

As it seems I missed FileZilla when it did, I'm going to make a quick forum post of apps that have dropped Windows 2000 support (or are newer and never had it) for reference and to ensure that I haven't missed updating any. As of today (2010-11-23), the following apps do not support Windows 2000:

- Dia
- Google Chrome
- FileZilla
- Foxit Reader
- GIMP
- Inkscape
- Songbird
- SpyDLLRemover

Please let me know if I've missed any others.

Firefox 4?

Firefox 4 isn't supported on 2000, not sure if it works though.

And Inkscape will be trying to get Windows 2000 support back; it was a foolish upstream change in gio that broke it. If that gets fixed then Dia will also be fixed.

I am a Christian and a developer and moderator here.

Officially Unsupported

Windows 2000 is officially unsupported in Firefox 4, but they are taking trivial patches to fix issues that gets it working. In other words, interested devs can continue testing and submitting patches to fix Win2K bugs, but Mozilla is ditching their Windows 2000 test machines and won't be testing or supporting any release on Windows 2000. I'd wager that many publishers will begin to do this now that Windows 2000 is end-of-lifed (will receive no bug or security patches anymore) and usage has dropped down to Windows NT 4.0 levels (about 0.4% of online users).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
