XNView

I don't want to diss your suggestion but what's wrong with using batch processing in XNViewPortable to do all this?

On the plus side,Image Turner does look a bit friendlier to use, which would certainly be a valid argument for it.

XnView Rocks

I am happy with XnView's batch image processing. It is my current tool.

I'm requesting this for my girlfriend. Being a purpose-built tool it is easier to use Image Turner's batch image resizing capabilities. Also the descriptions for the different profiles (640x480 Facebook, Twitter) make it a Lot easier for her to use.

Again I like XnView. I'm looking for something that users who cringe at the sight of a context menu and don't understand XnView's Image Processing window.

Alternative - FastStone Photo Resizer

Hoping to add to the discussion... what about FastStone Photo Resizer?

From the web page:
FastStone Photo Resizer is an image converter and renaming tool that intends to enable users to convert, rename, resize, crop, rotate, change color depth, add text and watermarks to images in a quick and easy batch mode. Drag and Drop mouse operation is well supported.

  • Convert and Rename images in batch mode
  • Support JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG, TIFF and JPEG2000
  • Resize, crop, change color depth, apply color effects, add text, watermark and border effects
  • Rename images with sequential number
  • Search and replace texts in the file names
  • Preview conversion and renaming
  • Support folder/non-folder structure
  • Load and save settings
  • And much more...

It doesn't seem to offer as many image formats, but the other features might make it a keeper. FWIW, it is listed on the Portable Freeware Collection as meeting their definition of "portable".

This looks great. Could someone develop a PAF'd version?

I am already making it portable

or at least a launcher.

Remember its freeware and their apps can't be extracted from the launchers.

Is the name Image Tuner or Image Turner?

I think it's supposed to be Image Tuner. Please correct the spelling in the post title and Name.

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.
