I get an invalid security certificate window for tons of websites. Couldn't find anything on search. Works fine on IE though. How can I fix?

If you get an error like this one (probably different colors), just as the message says, it's most likely not a problem with Firefox, but with those sites using unverified security certificates. However, IE should have displayed something along the lines of this error message as well.
Can you point us to some of those "tons of websites" which have invalid security certificates under Firefox, but work on IE? No need for a whole ton, just a few should suffice...
If you believe that those websites are legitimate, you can always use "I Understand the Risks" > "Add Exception...", and confirm your choice. I wouldn't do that btw, not until I knew why those certificates were marked invalid in the first place.

Yes, only with FireFox. Almost every secure site I go to: PayPal, CapitalOne, etc. I'm sure they are legitimate. Limited GUI info is displayed when I add exception. I have to resolve this.

I'd wager the computer or your browser is infected. Scan everything with antivirus antispyware, etc. This is not normal behavior.

Performed a system scan with a current version of Norton Internet Security and it found nothing.

There's nothing wrong with Firefox or Firefox Portable itself, so it's something on your machine or a man in the middle attack occuring and redirecting your traffic somehow. Did you try a fresh install of Firefox locally and Firefox Portable anyway (not an upgrade install, an install to a new location).

Reinstalling cured the problem. I have to do this about once per month anyway, but never for this reason.
