If so, too bad cuz I was looking to try it out (b4 today, did not know what Miro is, whether local or portable)
My VISTA install, it did not get a name in the PA MENU, INSTEAD this was the name: [PAF Error - Missing Name]...whether renamed to MM_Miro or kept [PAF Error - Missing Name], when I tried to launch, it did not start
guess I have to go back to VLC for now
EDIT: but here http://getmiro.com/download/for-windows it says Windows 7,VISTA & XP...so what's going on with my particular install?...but while waiting for reply, I went ahead and installed local version of Miro on said Vista laptop, 2 Qs: seems Miro need ZoneAlarm internet access allowed other wise won't work, true? (I found if I allow it, then video I double clicked opens, then I can go back and ''block'' internet access--slight annoyance; if not then long time then some error message but forgot what message was.) So because of this annoyance, I can't use Miro as offline media player?
SECOND question: Miro plays ripped DVDs? If so, instructions on how to do it?
PS: gluxon, can u see about the 404 message I got for BurnAware DEV?
If the local version doesn't work, the portable one won't either. This would be an app issue and not something we can fix. Try getting the local app working first to ensure it is compatible with your PC. Ensure you have a full, updated Vista install (not one of the odd vlite installs without all the bits).
Incidentally, the [PAF Error - Missing Name] means that the appinfo.ini of the app is messed up so it won't work right.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Hmm... very strange will check it out.
EDIT: Ok... I deleted Miro on my hard drive and downloaded it again just to make sure... strange, the appinfo.ini seems to be ok and I don't see any "error" in the PortableApps.com menu... all I see is "Miro Portable".(used Vista just to make sure). Not really sure what to do.
Miro LOCAL C: HDD install ERROR message if I double click VIdeo but didN'T allow ZoneAlarm interNET ACCESS: get said message and Miro.exe stays in process/Task Manager BUT double-clickED video never open/play.
But like I said in above post, if allow ZoneAlarm access, then video plays. Only then, I can go back to ZoneAlarm and block internet access. Thought slight but becoming a big annoyance now...so I can't use Miro as an OFFline media player like any of the old tried and true media players? And will Miro play ripped DVDs? HOW?
Without further ado, error message= http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/116/tallowzonealarminternet.jpg (BUT I could NOT find log mentioned in said error message)
Oh... I see you just installed Miro locally...
It's probably a problem with Miro and ZoneAlarm, ask the Miro developers, not here. I just created the launcher using PAL.
BTW, can someone do a regshot for me? I wasn't thinking and I launched it so I don't know...
Regshot.

Ah thanks, it looks clean...
In my case there is one folder created and left behind in AppData: "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\PCF-VLC" .

I am a 3D body trapping a single dimension soul !
Fixed, Dev Test 2 released.
Thanks!
Now, the issue of the download folder's path is really annoying! Can't make it relative to the Miro's executable! I see it is stored in "\MiroPortable\Data\settings\Miro\Support\preferences.bin" file, but it looks so strange...I have no idea how to change it there.
I'll keep searching for an answer to this one.

Yeah, I noticed that... I wanted to change it but as you said, it looks so strange...
Updated.
Updated. See above for details
How close to a stable release do you think this is?
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Well, the only bug I have is that Miro put's downloaded videos onto C:, I've tried to fix it but this is what is in the config:
...
S'system'
p6
sS'MoviesDirectory'
p7
VC:[lah[lah[lah
p8
...
Other than that, It seems stable
Looks like your host www.adrive.com is gone.
Link works here. strange, maybe try again later?
I tried a couple of different browsers yesterday and they could find PortableApps.com but not the Adrive, but today it is working. Thanks.

What's the word on portable Miro? I'd love to use this for my YouTube video editing.
Put all violators of the Constitution in jail.
Is there a portable app version of Miro yet?
Hello World!
It is a portable app already, but it's in testing, meaning that there may or may not be bugs in it. But so far, it looks alright.
@kai.inouye: The latest version is 4.0.3.
It says "The file you are trying to access is no longer available publicly."
Hello World!
yo, kai, I think the file you uploaded is no longer available publicly. Are you scrapping the project?
What if he doesn't answer?
Hello World!
That means you can take it over.
I'll update it soon, now that I have time to do so.
Updated to 4.0.3
YAY!
Hello World!
Hi,
- Version 4.0.4 introduces support for Kindle Fire.
Any chance of getting this portable version updated?
- Miro needs Flash installed. Coud the launcher be updated to detect the flash plugin in /Data/Plugins/ as in Portable Firefox?

version 4.0.5 released. When will release portable of this program? Interface of this application is good.
Oh well link is not working... just wanted to give it a try..
btw as it seems that "history is repeating" it may be a good idea to add some mirror
I came looking around for some more interesting programs here and found this. But saw that it was a little out of date, so I updated it to 4.0.6
