Portable APPS auf Festplatte, geile Idee. Nie mehr Ärger mit Registry, kein lahmer Rechner, nie mehr lange Install Prozedueren, nie mehr Schrott auf dem Rechner.
Hoffe immer mehr Software Hersteller liefern Portable Apps.
Hat schon jemand Erfahrung damit ???????? Kann das der Anfang der Installationsfreien Zukunft sein.

es gibt einige hier im Forum (ich auch teilweise) die portable den installierten Programmen vorziehen. Eines der Probleme ist dass das Doppelklicken auf Dateien nicht geht. Aber auch dafür gibt es Lösungsansätze.

Eine lokale Installation ist erstmal kein Problem. Es gibt ein paar Klippen zu Umschiffen (direkte Installation im Wurzelverzeichnis von C: verursachte ein paar Probleme so weit ich weiß) aber ansonsten sollte alles funktionieren. Haben auf jeden Fall mehrere User hier so in Betrieb.

A local installation isn't a problem so far. There are some things to remember (installing to the root folder of C: caused some issues afaik), but apart from that everything should work fine. There are some users with that configuration here.

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.
I use PortableApps in place of installed apps on my desktop. It's great if I ever have to reinstall Windows, since all my apps can be restored in a simple copy operation from a backup. This takes minutes rather than hours to install all of my apps. Another feature I appreciate is that personal settings are never lost. Over the years, I've spent many hours customizing apps only to lose settings (for various reasons). Now I don't have to worry about that as the settings follow the app, whereever I "install" it.
The only real downsides to doing this are:
1. Every user has to get their own set of apps which could be a problem if you use a few large apps and disk space is limited. There are some instances where personal settings/preferences are minimal so sharing an app across multiple users isn't a big deal.
2. Setting certain "default" applications can be a pain if not impossible (without breaking portability), such as setting FirefoxPortable as the default browser. I personally have found this to be only a minor annoyance, and not a huge problem that would force me to reconsider using PortableApps as desktop apps. i.e. It doesn't crop up as an issue for me very often.
I speak a small, tiny amount of German but I'm not even going to try to translate.
Bei mir hier zu Hause greift die ganze Familie auf die auf dem Fileserver (Linux) gespeicherten PortableApps zu. Jeder auf seinem Account. Ich spare mir das tagelange Installations- und Einrichtungsgedöns nach einem Neuaufsetzen eines Betriebssystems und das Aktualisieren der Programme ist auch einfacher weil zentral. Das machen wir nun schon ein paar Jahre ohne Probleme. Jeder kann sich an den Rechner setzen, der gerade verfügbar ist und findet immer seine Programme. Nachteil ist nur, dass z.B. vier mal OpenOffice auch 4 x 330MB Speicherplatz sind. Aber die Vorteile überwiegen einfach.
