Hey guys,
Java Update 23 has been out for a while now, but the portable Java hasn't been updated yet.
Please do so asap.
Thank you

your local installation of java to the place on the stick, thats it, nothing more or less.
simply go to the folder Java/jre6 and copy the contents of the folder and paste them into the java folder under common files on your stick.

If you noticed, we stopped updating Java Portable when Sun was bought by Oracle, thus, giving Java's trademark rights to Oracle. We are going through the process of requesting permission for distributing Java Portable. I believe it's going well and we should see Java Portable updated soon.
This is slightly off topic, but theres something that always bothered me.
When an official app gets outdated, licensing issues or otherwise, and its obvious it wont be updated soon, shouldn't that be mentioned on the official app page?
I remember when MPlayer had a security issue, users were told to stop using it until it was updated to SMplayer. I would like to know if I'm using an outdated app, like in the case of JKDefrag/MyDefrag

JkDefrag isn't outdated. It's a perfectly fine app that works just fine. MyDefrag is a *different* app as it has been modified, has a different GUI and a different license. Even when we add MyDefrag, JkDefrag will still be available.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
While JkDefrag may not be outdated, Java is.
With all respect, it would nice for there to be a notification on the page saying that it is not the latest version of Java, but an update is being worked on.

There is a list of outdated apps, but it gets lost in a sea of threads because John refuses to pin it. (=P)
