cannot log into portableapps.com from two computers at once

So last night, I was logged onto this website. I quit Firefox and shut down the computer w/o logging out of portableapps.com. Today at school, I try to log on, and it says my password is incorrect. I know for a fact that I typed in the password correctly.

The same thing happened yesterday when I switched computers. I logged into the website from one computer, then shut down the computer without logging out of portableapps.com. I turned on the other computer, typed in the EXACT SAME PASSWORD, and it didn't work. I had to reset the password, and I reset to what it already was.

Why is this happening? I can log onto other websites (like Yahoo) from two computers at once, but not this website.

Weird,

I don't have the problem and I switch between three devices constantly. Either my Laptop (HP dv7t), netbook (ASUS) or my phone (HTC Desire). None of which have any kind of with this site. Did you check capslock and/or numlock?

apparantly that's not the problem

I logged out from every computer, and I still can't log back in. I had to reset the password. So something else must be the problem. I know for a fact I had the password correct.

Now I just tried to log in from the other computer with the new password and it won't let me.

It might be either Noscript or my cookie preferences, but I've got both set to allow portableapps.com.

Try a Different Browser

If both javascipt and cookies aren't fully enabled, you won't be able to log in.

tried that, didn't help

I attempted to log on from a fresh copy of Safari with no extensions, all settings except bookmarks at the default.

I also tried disabling Noscript and telling Firefox to accept cookies from this website.

The only way in is through the password reset page.

Something There

There's nothing unusual with your account at all, so there's something up with your location. It could be a proxy issue or something. Be sure to check for badware on the PC as well.

If there were something up with logging in from other PCs or with passwords not working properly, believe me, we'd hear about it from many, many people.

tried a third computer

I tried four different web browsers on my dad's iMac. I tried Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla. They all came up with the password is incorrect message. I had also tried on Firefox on the school PC today. Tomorrow I will try Internet Explorer at school.

In the mean time, I'm not logging out of the website from this computer (a PowerBook G4).

I was actually suprised that the school web filter didn't block this website under the usual freeware category. It might block the download though.

doesn't work with the school computers either

I tried with the computers at my school today and yesterday. Internet Explorer and Windows XP. All settings for most applications are wiped at log out. Still nothing. This tells me it is not the browser or operating system.

I think I will try creating a new account and seeing if that works.

Characters

Do you have any unusual chars in your password? Or perhaps it's from your account ending in a period. I didn't even know that was allowed in Drupal (our CMS/forum software).

only uppercase and lowercase letters in password

I will try getting rid of the period.

I had this (or similar) problem too the other day.

I was logged on on two computers (1: Win2K, FirefoxPortable 4.0b10 pre; 2: WinXP, OperaPortable 11)
The second computer froze up solid, so I had to kill it (it has problems).
When I rebooted the second computer and logged in again, it said "Access is Denied" and didn't log me in (I tried using Firefox, Opera, & Chrome [Portable & installed] as well as OffByOne).
Since I was still logged in on the first computer I just used it to respond on the forums.
When I tried again on the second computer (after an unknown amount of time [sorry, I wasn't keeping track]) it worked fine (using OperaPortable 11 again)

I haven't had the problem since, but I have been careful to sign out of PortableApps.com on that computer when I'm not using it (in case it screws up again)

new account

I created a new account. We'll see if that helps.
