Application: Wormux
Category: Games
Description:
Have the mascots of your favorite free software titles battle it out in the Wormux arena using dynamite, grenades, baseball bats and other bazookas...
Exterminate your opponent in a 2D environment with toon-style scenery.
Each player controls the team of his choice (penguin, gnu, firefox, wilber,...) and must destroy his adversary using more or less casual weapons.
Although a minimum of strategy is required to vanquish, Wormux is pre-eminently a "convivial mass murder" game where, turn by turn, each member of each team attempts to produce a maximum of damage to his opponents.

First thanks for taking this over. It's a fun game which brings back memories of playing Worms 2 against my brothers. Works on XP SP3 with admin rights. Regshot below. Note that there are a lot of MUI entries which are not related to Wormux. I believe they are there as a result of my using a registry cleaner before the running Regshot.

I remember playing the first Worms on Playstation, it does indeed bring back memories. I had played it for some time so I figured I knew everything about the game, one of the Worms said "What the...?!" (which I had not heard one say before) when I accidentally threw a grenade right next to myself, and my friend and I started laughing uncontrollably.
Good times.
If the Wormux devs maintained their program configuration and didn't change anything, Wormux doesn't use the registry at all. The settings are saved in an XML file and there are two other files to cleanup. That's it.

Yeah, there's only a Wormux directory left in %APPDATA%, but that's easily taken care of.
Updated with XML support. If I can get some quick testing, I believe this is ready.
I'm about to test it.
Maybe it's better to wait a while as the project has been renamed to WarMUX lately.
They haven't made a release under that name yet, so it'll still be Wormux until then.
You're right. I just thought it maybe an issue with the updater when this were released offically and then renamed for the next version.
And even if I don't know the reasons, I assume they changed the name to avoid copyright issues with team17.
Is anyone else having problems with the newest release? It keeps crashing on me whenever I try to start it.
If you mean WarMUX 11.01, it runs perfectly on my pc (WinXPSP3). Default settings are kind of conservative now. Was border scrolling disabled in earlier versions dy default? Can't remember. Apart from that it feels smoother over all.
Apparently one of the DLL files in the installer is corrupt. I've fixed it now and will be updating this in a few minutes.
EDIT: Scratch that. I have to finish a software requirement specification for my software engineering, but I should have this out tonight.
