ClamWin: 0.88.5

I noticed last week that ClamWin started telling me about updating to 0.88.5 when I update the virus definitions. Is there a new portable version in the works as well? Or, is there a way I can update my portable version to 0.88.5?

Thanks,
Jay

Wow!

I am new to this site. I love the PortableApps that are offered here; however, I must say that I came to the forums to uncover the mystery surrounding the update message that I've been receiving from ClamWin 0.88.4 instructing me to update to 0.88.5 and what I found in this response to a legitimate question is shocking. Why would a legitimate question be responded to with such a pompous answer that does nothing to actually answer the question?

Because

it's exactly what John said. (Note: John = John T. Haller = maker of PortableApps)
He can't give a release date, but it should be out soon.

Yeah, I try not to say

Yeah, I try not to say things for developers especially those of the quality of John. However, he's said it himself and I thought I'd just answer it for him to save him a bit of time. Smile

Clarification

I did not make my remarks very clear and for that I apologize. The original poster asked two questions of which the first one was answered, albeit in a snide way. What about the second?

Is there a way I can update my portable version to 0.88.5?

In an effort to preemptively address what I anticipate will be a reply, it seems that the two questions were not one in the same. First, the poster asked if a new version was in the works. Then, he asked if there was a way to update the software to the new version. I interpret the last question to ask if there is some sort of way that the version can be updated in a sort of work around. I hope this clarifies my question and more importantly I hope someone has the requisite knowledge and is gracious enough to share it with me because I would like to learn the answer.

Sorry about the two

Sorry about the two questions thing, I was basically just trying to find any way to get 0.88.5 on my flash drive. It's good to know that a portable version will be available here soon, but in the meantime I will use the fix posted in this thread.
