Ive accidentally corrupted my usbstick.
So now it says that the filesystem is RAW and i have to format it.
I have some data on it that i really need.
Ive tried loads of programs but none of them worked?
can anyone help me?

Some mounts ago my usbstick got corrupted. I've tried loads of recovery softwares and none of them worked.
Finally, I tried to open the stick on Linux (Puppy Linux), and...magic: I've got access to my data!
That's just an idea, I hope it works also for you.
Though it appears you have a corrupted drive, I wanted to point that I have had several usb drives from SanDisk as well as Memorex that occasionally are reported as RAW (along with not showing the personal volume label for the drive) by the computer when in fact it is completely readable and is actually FAT32 (what I formatted the drive as). Happens on multiple PCs I have tried it on so just one of those things it appears.
Anyone else see this behavior?
Ok, my usb stick is f*cked up, BIG time.
So now I'm asking my fellow portable appers for a favour.
The things is that the boot sector and the partition table has been deleted from my usbstick o now it's completely unusable.
So I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to recover it?
I would be forever grateful...

I would suggest using Swissknife. Its a software that allows you to easily format usb/flash drives. It may save it.

Huh? I don't understand what "direct linking" is. All I was doing was suggesting something I stumbled onto, in the hopes it would help.

he's saying is that it is usually better if you link to a page with more information so people can get a better idea of what the program is rather than just giving a link to the program, which for all we know could be a virus.

You probably removed the partition by accident. You'll have to format it. What sucks is that the data is still on there, but inaccesible.

I have the SanDisk Cruzer, and when I uninstalled U3 the same thing happened to me, and it was a simple process to fix it. I hope it helps some of you. Right click on "my computer" => manage => "disk management". There should be a "removable disk" without a drive letter assigned to it. Right click on it and "change drive letter" click on add, and select the drive letter you want. This fixes the "RAW" problem, not sure about the boot sector or partition table, but worth a try.

Ok i sent it back to the seller and got a new one.
But know i'm wondering what i should do if this would happen again.
I now know that formatting a corrupted drive IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
That just f*cked up my usb toally and made it not recoverable.
I read somewhere about restoring mbr and partition table.
Someone who has an idea?
I just want to be prepared.

...stands for Master Boot Record. Chances are you don't have one on your USB stick.

OK this is not a portable App but I have had a similar issue where the FAT16 File Allocation Table got corrupted on a CF card in an HP IPAQ4700 PDA.
Having downloaded lots of freeware and shareware tools, the only one I have any success with is "Data Doctor Recovery for Windows (NTFS/FAT)". I was able to recover 99% of my data and reformat the CF card. The downside is you have to pay a registration fee to save your recovered data.
I was impressed with this package.
