Proprietary

I wouldn't bother unless you have explicit permission from the authors of Winrar, since it'd be illegal.

Question about this...

I have a question about this. WinRAR already has a portable called WinRAR Unplugged located at http://www.win-rar.com/download.html at the bottom of the page. This is the official unregistered version (a note to the mods... Please let me know if it's not ok to share that link here, ok?). As a registered user of this program, I already use this, but have a small annoyance. There are 5 executables in this. What would be the easiest way to clean this up? I have parts of WinRAR all over my PA Menu. Thanks.. Smile

Unwanted Menu Items

Just Right Click on the Menu items you don't want to see and use the "Hide" function.

Depends on what you want to do

If you need to access all of these exes, you can rename the shortcuts in the menu so they all start with the same characters - the menu sorts itself alphanumerically, so if they all start with "WinRar", they'll all be next to each other.
If you only need one or some of these exes, you can hide the ones you don't need.

How to rename or hide: in the PA Menu, go to the shortcut you want to alter, and right-click. You will see the option to Hide or Rename.

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.

Thanks...

Thank you... I did know that I could hide them (I came across that by accident some time back). I was hoping there was some way to clean it up, so it would have a similar structure to official PA format. Oh well, I guess I'm just being picky. Smile Thanks again for the help and info. Peace...

use the appinfo way..

create a folder and call it as you like, eg WinRarPortable. therein create a folder called app , therein create a folder called AppInfo . Into the AppInfo folder put a file called Appinfo.ini with the following contents

[Format]
Type=PortableApps.comFormat
Version=1.0

[Details]
Name=WinRAR unplugged 3.9.1.1

[Control]
Icons=1
Start=app\Launch WinRAR.exe

..and an icon called appicon.ico

At last unzip and put the winrar unplugged files into the app folder and put your WinRar Portable into the PortableApps folder, refresh icons and there you go..

[Use <pre> for blocks, not <code> - mod Chris]
