I've downloaded the help pack from http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/3.3.0/win/x86/....
How can I make it work with LO Portable?
If not is there another way to get local US help instead of the default web-based help?
Thanks in advance!
According to this post by MarkoMLM, help packs will be made portable.
Until then, I think patience is the best strategy

Thanks SakiTC, but that doesn't address my question. I have OOo 3.3 portable also installed and it has local help via F1.
I'd rather use LibreOffice but I need the help system working. Is there a way I can manually make this work? Otherwise I will stick with OOo for now.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry if I didn't make it clear: I only wanted to let you know that this problem is known and that help packs are coming. Developers of the portable version are working closely with developers of LibreOffice, so I would certainly want to wait for a stable and working solution.
If you can't wait and want to try fixing it manually, you are on your own.
As for OO.o 3.3, there is no legal portable version.

If you can't wait and want to try fixing it manually, you'll have to figure it out on your own; but if you do figure it out, please post info here on the forum, this will tell others how to get it working, and possibly speed up the PortableApps.com developers in getting out an official Help Pack release. (as they are active members of this forum, and may use your suggestions)

Thats if I ever figure it out. I installed the help pack, but LO Portable would not access it. Its not obvious (to me) how to manually access the help. It is not the CHM system I am used to.
Thanks to everyone anyway.
