Application: Aspell
Category: Office
Description: Aspell Portable is a Free and Open Source spell checker that does a superior job of suggesting possible replacements for a misspelled word than just about any other spell checker out there for the English language.
I had noticed talk of Aspell unable to be accessed via X:\PortableApps\CommonFiles\ which struck me odd, for I have had a portable Aspell in said directory over at least half a year now. So I ran through the PortableApps.com Format Specification (2.0) and rendered what I believe adheres to these guidelines.
Aspell Portable 0.60.6 Development Test 1 is ready for use in my opinion. It was packaged by the PortableApps.com Installer 2.0.8 and should extract to X:\PortableApps\CommonFiles\AspellPortable. It already includes an English dictionary (aspell-en-0.50-2-3.exe) prepackaged for convenience.
You may now enjoy Aspell's spell checking capabilities within Notepad++. To enable it's functionality make sure Aspell successfully installed in the above location within the CommonFiles folder. Once verified, launch Notepad++ and locate the spell checker icon. If Notepad++ is a fresh install this icon will be the last icon on the top right; you can't miss it. Assuming your Notepad++ install is proper, input "..\..\..\CommonFiles\AspellPortable\bin" in the appropriate dialog box. Restart Notepad++ and enjoy the splendors of aesthetically-pleasing prose. Or whatever you're into.. Lol.

Nice idea, though I had not time to test them for now. Btw. better post that in the Beta test forum.
Thanks, will have a look some time soon.

Works like a charm! I installed the german dictionary, too, and it works also.
Great job!
Thanks for testing this..!
Glad to hear it's working.

Installed Aspell Portable and Notepad++ 5.9 Portable on a flash drive with v2.0 beta 5 platform.
No problems using Notepad++/Aspell Portable when the flash drive was connected to a computer which did not have Aspell installed on it.
Plugged the flash drive into a computer that had Aspell installed on its hard disk and found that Notepad++ 5.9 Portable used the dictionary on the hard disk to spell check and also added new words to the dictionary on the hard disk instead of using Aspell Portable's dictionary (PortableApps\CommonFiles\AspellPortable\en.pws)
I will see what I can do, if anything..
