Release Notes:
Development Test 1 (2009-01-23): Initial release
Known Issues that are being worked on now:
Development Test 1
- Settings being overwritten by launcher moving the default settings from App/DefaultData to Data/Settings - working to fix that bug
- Downloads for some reason are not allowing user to pick where to download. (should be fixed in Development Test 2
I noticed when downloading I didn't get a prompt to select where to drop the file. Instead it just droped it into $EXEDIR\Data\Settigns\file.bleh. Other than that the only error was the PA Format version that I pointed out earlier. Should be 1.1.0

I think Ryan is right and we should leave the bookmarks bar in its default location and with the default bookmarks intact. We'll add our PortableApps.com bookmark just after the QTWeb bookmark, though and keep our start.portableapps.com homepage.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
ok I'll fix that too in the Development Test 2

Hello,
McAfee found the folloing:
qtwebportable\app\qtweb\msvcr80.dll
qtwebportable\app\qtweb\msvcp80.dll
Vundo.gen.y
Greetings, g-npho
That is called a false positive. most virus scanners don't like some files that are compressed by UPX. please advise your vender that this isn't a virus at all but only a false positive by the fact the dll's are compressed using upx

... but the language selection does not work
I have choose "german", but it started with English
there seems to be a lack of language support in qtweb. I'm going to contact the devs about it and see if they have anything about adding language support
your friendly neighbourhood moderator Zach Thibeau
I'm pretty sure QTWeb is English only right now.

I kinda like it! It has its own charm! I'll continue using it and see if I can contribute in some way...
When i tried to enable Proxy, it crashes.
exactly what i did:
opend settings(F2), clicked proxy tab, enable proxy, and clicked the drop down where it said sock5, as my school uses auto conf. this is where it crashes.
thats qtwebs problem atm and according to their site this bug has already been submitted and accepted and being fixed by them.

General Stuff- OS: Windows XP Prof. and Home
- Rights: Limited (of prof) Admin (on home)
- What Release(Dev test # or Pre-Release #): 1
Everything worked well, and as far I could tell there was nothing that was added. There was no problems and no errors came up.
Please search before posting. ~Thanks
I ran QTWeb through the Peacekeeper browser benchmark at service.futuremark.com/peacekeeper, to compare it with the results I got for IE7 on my computer at work.
QTWeb performed INCREDIBLY well! It got a benchmark score over 2000 while IE7's was only around 400. It also beat out K-Meleon and Opera. (The security settings won't let me run Chrome or Firefox, even when portable).
QTWeb is now my default browser on my work computer.
Tonight I'll benchmark it on my computer at come and compare it to IE8, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera and Lunascape.
There is a new version 3.3 with a portable version http://www.qtweb.net/download.php
Sorry for my English

@Zach: do you mind if I take over with this?
"The question I would like to know, is the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything. All we know about it is that the Answer is Forty-two, which is a little aggravating."
yes I do mind, I'm working on it, just need to work out some kinks before release.

ok, I was just wondering if you had dropped it. Thanks anyway!
