Documents opened empty for associated files OOo 2.0.3

Dear all,

I have files with content in both OOo Portable 2.0.3 and MS Office formats (documents, spreadsheets and presentations) which when opened with OOo Porable 2.0.3, are always blank/empty, although I have associated the respective file extensions with with OOo Portable 2.0.3 in my Windows Explorer in WinXP home.

Please let me know if you have experienced this behavior and how you solved it.

Best regards.

File - Open

Does it work if you open it from File - Open within OO?

Associating portable apps with file extensions is not currently supported.

Dear John, Thank you for

Dear John,

Thank you for your quick feedback (I hope you do get rest some times).

I can open within OOo any of the files, only when double clicking an associated file opens it as an empty document. This is certainly the behavior you described as "Associating portable apps with file extensions is not currently supported". I will be looking forward to using this feature when made available (as this is not critical, I understand that the workload is high enough to provide major release for various applications).

Thank you for your help and as well as from others to provide all those portable applications.

Best regards.

Here's a hint

Though not supported (as in we ain't helpin you with it) you can associate OpenOfficePortable.exe with all the extensions. The individual app launchers in 2.0.3 don't pass it off correctly.
