Please add Scan Tailor as officialy supported application
http://scantailor.sourceforge.net
Scan Tailor is an interactive post-processing tool for scanned pages. It performs operations such as page splitting, deskewing, adding/removing borders, and others. You give it raw scans, and you get pages ready to be printed or assembled into a PDF or DJVU file. Scanning, optical character recognition, and assembling multi-page documents are out of scope of this project.
Scan Tailor is Free Software (which is more than just freeware). It's written in C++ with Qt and released under the General Public License version 3. We develop both Windows and GNU/Linux versions.
This project started in late 2007 and by mid 2010 it reached production quality. It's being used not just by enthusiasts, but also by libraries and other institutions. A few books processed by Scan Tailor even ended up on Google Books.
I've downloaded a copy of the software and will take a look at it.

O.K. it's here: https://portableapps.com/node/27566
I haven't had time to explore its capabilities yet, but perhaps you can confirm whether or not it behaves as you would expect.

Hi ghost_1987,
Many, many thanks for this portable app. I am still new to Scantailor and worked on only about 3 or 4 scanned pdf projects. My first one was to make a pdf book of my old "Microsoft Function Reference v-3.0" manual, which was my goto reference for designing and troubleshooting my work as a Senior Grants Accountant. Anyway, I had always thought I would be happy with my regular scanning of documents I have archived as hard copies, and later as pdf files when I learned to scan to usb. I made this Excel pdf quickly by scanning half as much because the scanning of 2 pages of the open book fit in the page shaped like legal size, landscaped. But only when I tried using the pdf as a replacement for my goto reference book did I find that the pdf required some cumbersome horizontal scrolling. Looking for a freeware tool, I discovered Scantailor, with great reviews !! I stumbled at first with Scantailor when steps taken yielded unexpected results, but with trial and error and logical avoidance of pitfalls, I was able to produce a searchable pdf ebook that looks pretty pro.
I took home my latest project, a pdf scanned to usb of a 70 page hard copy doc and when viewes I noticed that I must have missed a setting. Each letter sized page appeared at the very far left of a legal landscape page and each page had the right half side blank. Also some pages scanned the page shifted a bit towards the right leaving an unusually wide left margin. This is when I wondered if there was a portable version of Scantailor. And your portable version was able to tailor-fix my problematic scan from start to finish without any errors in the process. I looked like it was perfectly scanned to begin with.
Thank you for packaging a portable version of an extremely useful tool that can do some magic !!
