I recently installed Firefox Portable 4.0 to a network share. When it starts up, everything is fine for a while. After a random amount of time, not only does Adobe Flash Player (which I installed per the instructions on this site) fail, but when I try to look at plugins, none show up. I know the network share is sound - I manage it. As far as I know, there are no disconnects from it, even momentarily. After restarting Firefox Portable, it works again for a while. I have rebooted my system repeatedly and that does not help.
I would appreciate any help on this I can get. It is a very strange problem.
Thanks in advance!
It may or may not work to run it from a network share with a UNC path (e.g.
\\ServerName\Path\To\Share\FirefoxPortable
), but AFAIK it's not officially supported, because it has some unpredictable potential issues (including the one you mentioned). If you want to use it from a network share, you'll need to map the share as a network drive first.

Thanks for the tip concerning the UNC path. From the beginning, I have used a mapped drive (L:) to store my Firefox Portable installation. I know several others who have successfully done it with a mapped drive as well as offline storage such as Dropbox, so I felt pretty safe.
Still looking for a solution,

You only said that it was a network share, thus it was logical to assume you are using a UNC path, in the future please post all pertinent information (e.g. that it's not just "a network share" but "a network share, mapped to a Drive Letter").
Anyway, I don't really know what else could cause it; I suppose it could be a problem with it being on a network share (despite it being mapped to a drive letter), or it could be a problem with your configuration, or it could be a problem with something else.
Let's try to narrow it down a little bit, 'kay? let's start with checking if it's Network Drive specific.
If you copy (or move) your Firefox Portable installation off of the Mapped Network Drive, keeping the same path (e.g. to a USB FlashDrive), does it still exhibit this behavior?
