Installing Portable Skype Error

Hi Every buddy
I tried to install the Portable Skype (in regular way, 1st download it from PortableApps.com, 2nd installing using the options:Install new Apps), but several time and many days, the installing starts and in the middle of the installation i get the next Msg:

"The installer was unable to download Skype. The installation of the portable app will be incomplete without it. please try installing again.
(ERROR: Reget Error)"

and the installation quit, the application icon appears in the PortableApps menu but not working since installation not completed.

any help on this issue will be highly appreciated.

Best Regards.

internet connection?

Are you connected to internet during this operation?

Are you located in a country where the contact to skype is blocked?
Is the contact to skype blocked by your isp/compayn/school etc?

To expand on this...

FYI, since Skype is freeware, PortableApps.com does not distribute the actual Skype application in its installer. Instead, the installer starts the install, then automatically goes out to the internet to download the actual Skype app, which is why you need to be connected to the internet during the installation.

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.

Manual Dowlnoad:

If the installer is unable to download the file properly, then you'll have to download it manually to be able to install it.
If you can download it via another means, then download http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_5.3.0.108.msi and place it in the same folder as the SkypePortable_5.3.0.108_Rev_2_online.paf.exe that you downloaded from PortableApps.com.
That way it won't have to download the file during install, and as long as neither file is corrupt, you should shortly have a working installation of Skype Portable.
