The contents of that link are kind of cryptic. I've tried changing many settings in "AutoPlay defaults", but nothing works to have my platform menu open upon insertion of the drive. Could you please be more specific? Vista.
If you would like to have the PortableApps.com Platform start every time you plug in your drive on your own computer, the PortableApps.com AutoRun/AutoPlay Utility John mentioned can be installed on your machine, it is available Here.
Note: There are two versions of the utility, 1 has no GUI, and would be recommended in your case, however I would recommend that you try the other one first, just to make sure you understand what it will be doing.
I installed the utility. It works. The posts I read on this were from 2008. Were you ever able to make the autoplay window autoclose? Didn't see any further mention of that fix.

Autoplay was disabled in a recent windows update. You cam no longer enable it. We have an autoplay utility in the forums you can use though.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
