Have Platform appear in window list

Please have the menu appear in ALT + TAB as a regular "app" next update, it would be appreciated because I am using it a lot now and I'm sick of having to go to the notification area all of the time.

Cheers anyway and good (luck) working on the next development phase

Remain visible

See Advanced in the PortableApps.com Platform support section.

PortableApps.com Platform and Suite Support, Advanced Remain Visible - If you add a line reading RemainVisible=True to your PortableAppsMenu.ini, it will remain visible even when you click off of it or launch an app. You can hide and show it by clicking on the PortableApps.com icon in your system tray.

This will do it.

It's always worked that way for me

I've used Alt+ Tab on both the 1.6 and 2.0b line of the platform, and it always appears there like any other app, on both XP and Win7.

Win+Alt+Space

I'm sick of having to go to the notification area all of the time.

Did you tried Win+Alt+Space?

Hi everyone and thanks for

Hi everyone and thanks for all the replies.

I'm using a Thinkpad which has no windows key.

Basically all I want is to be able to have the menu in the System Tray (notification area) all the time and simply press ALT + TAB and go to it like any other application, or does this require an entry in the Windows Taskbar?

Correction to my earlier comment

On XP, Alt+Tab doesn't work, but Win+Alt+Space does.
However, on Win7, Alt+Tab works great, but Win+Alt+Space does not.
I think plethora has a valid point, you may not always be on a computer with a Win button. Perhaps we could have an alternate shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+Space, perhaps?), that you could choose by editing a value in the ini file?

On Win7

On Win7 the platform is present on the task bar as well as in the tray. I think that is why it shows up in Alt-Tab.

Perhaps the platform could use a "minimize to tray" option. Keypass has such an option. Just an idea.

[FWIW: I just tried Keypass; when minimized to tray it does not appear in Alt-Tab, when minimized to the task bar it does.]
