How to get Menu Icon in System Tray

Hello!

How do I get the PortableApps Icon for the Menu to appear and stay in the System Tray?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

It is

The PortableApps.com Platform always appears in the system tray. If you are using Windows 7, however, the icons in the system tray are hidden by default (the arrow in the corner will show them). This is why on Windows 7 the Platform 2.0 shows a taskbar icon by default.

Having Menu Icon only in System Tray & not on TaskBar

Hello!

Yes I am using a Windows 7 Computer, however, I would like to remove the icon on the taskbar and just have it in the System Tray.

Is there a way I can do that?

Thanks again in advance,

"Default" It

Right click the tray and go to the defaults screen, there should be an option to always show the icon as a default. To find it you may have to scroll down the list until PortableApps.com Platform shows up on the list. As for disabling the taskbar icon, you'll have to get into the platform's ini file and insert the Windows7Taskbar=false line. Not that hard to do, actually.

ORLY?

It might just be you. Try looking in the link kAlug put above. That should help. If not, then it might be a bug in your installation. IDK. Just try from that link.

Menu version

What menu version do you have?
Afaik, the ini only exists in the latest 2.0 beta 5 version. If you are still using the 1.6.1, you should upgrade.
