Portable Passwords?

Do you have Portable Passwords enabled? If not, check the help.html file for instructions on how to enable it.

Is this it?

Known Issues
When opting in to Portable Passwords (see GooglechromePortable.ini), a malicious individual will be able to determine the length of your passwords.

Is that what i say?

I dont understand it.

I thought it was documented there

Create a GoogleChromePortable.ini file in the same directory as GoogleChromePortable.exe with this content:

PortablePasswords=true
EncryptPortablePasswords=true

help.html

Refer to help.html, which directs you (quietly) to GoogleChromePortable.ini, which is in Other\Source.

Solution

I had this problem.

For some reason GoogleChromePortable was not reading the GoogleChromePortable.ini from the $PortableApps$\GoogleChromePortable\Other\Source folder. I fixed it by moving the GoogleChromePortable.ini file to the root GoogleChromePortable installation folder.

Works now.

Not Supposed To

The one in Other\Source is an example only. As it is with all apps. The real AppNamePortable.ini goes in the AppNamePortable directory next to AppNamePortable.exe. The readme.txt details this. The INI also mentions you have to move it in the first comment.
