Greetings to the community

Greetings to the community. I'm a 30+ year old mil vet, and family man recently turned programming student. Since I have neither laptop nor netbook and work at my community college's library I have to use different computers all the time. I started using PA.c platform a few weeks ago and upgraded to the beta version (so far so good) no too long ago. I'm mostly using the portable IDE's Notepad++, Dev-Cpp 4.9.9.2 (the .paf version from the forums, the version from bloodshed.net tanked the registry on one of my school's puters), and I have Portable Python 3.2.0.1 running on the platform. Portable apps is a lifesaver for me in trying to get the work I need done, done from anywhere. While I am impressed and happy with the program options available, I would like to see a fully featured Java IDE in the future (something along the lines of Eclipse or Netbeans) fully integrated with the platform. But in the meantime keep up the good work folks.

Welcome to the forums. If you

Welcome to the forums.

If you do a search on both Netbeans and Eclipse, you will find that there are development test releases of both in the beta testing sub-forum. I can't say too much for the dev test of Netbeans as I haven't used it, but I have used the Eclipse from there, and it works fine for me.

While I know some may not be interested in testing what are sometimes works in progress, the way I look at it is that the more people who try it out, the more likely we are to find any bugs that may be hanging around.

Hope this helps you out, and hope you enjoy the good work that is happening here.

Thanks I'll check those out

Thanks I'll check those out before I start my fall Java class. I'm trying to get through the end of my C++ class at the moment.
